In Van God Los (Godforsaken), heinous acts, based on true crimes, come frighteningly close. How does it come to the point that that a person kills another? And why does this specific person end up being the victim?
Freek Ansink (Martin Schwab) gets a relationship with his much younger colleague Mathilde Bruma (Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau). After the two have engaged, Freek tells his boss about his relationship with colleague Mathilde. His boss tells him that a love affair is not allowed at the workplace. Freek gives up his managerial position and he goes to work in another department, so Mathilde can keep her job. Soon after that Mathilde have doubts about her love for Freek. This episode is based on the death of Ron Makadoero.
